THE great and the good of the tourism industry in Carmarthenshire gathered on 14th November at the Stradey Park Hotel in Llanelli to celebrate the county’s success. Some two hundred and fifty people were at the gala awards ceremony to honour Carmarthenshire’s finest tourism businesses - and also to launch the Dylan Thomas 100 Festival in South West Wales.

Among the big winners on the night was Gwestyr Emlyn who picked up two awards:

  • Large Service Accommodation of the Year for the second year running
  • A Taste of Carmarthenshire Award – Best Dining Out of the year

About The Hotel:

The Gwesty'r Emlyn Hotel dates back over 300 years, when it was a Coaching Inn. It is in the centre of Newcastle Emlyn, a busy Market Town at the border of Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.

Newcastle Emlyn is in the Teify valley which is very popular for Salmon and Sewin (migratory trout) fishing, and is in a very central location between the Market Towns of Carmarthen, Cardigan and Lampeter.
