Gwesty’r Emlyn Hotel – Rooms successfully revamped by Meigan Design
“each room was pin sharp and immaculate in its lines”
Turning a 300 year old coaching inn into a beautiful, contemporary hotel is no mean feat. Despite the obvious challenges, it’s a project which caught the imagination of Anne and Kevin Davies.
Gwesty’r Emlyn has been a traditional hostelry for years. Thanks to the hard work, vision and taste of Anne and Kevin, it is now a stylish, modern hotel.
Gwesty’r Emlyn is situated right in the heart of Newcastle Emlyn. From outside, the hotel is deceptively compact. It’s only when you go through the beautiful archway that the impressive size of the property becomes clear.
Soon after embarking on their ambitious project, Kevin and Anne asked us to help them with the interior design of the property. The property includes a number of rooms each with their own unique character and style. When designing the interior we were very careful to maintain this character whilst ensuring that each room was pin sharp and immaculate in its lines. Throughout the property we opted for tasteful, natural tones relying on cushions and curtains to add subtle splashes of colour. Click here to see Pictures.
Its welcoming staff, locally sourced food and the vision of its owners make the hotel a very welcoming place to stay. Since opening its doors in 2011, Gwesty’r Emlyn has received instant and well deserved acclaim from visitors and critics alike. This year it received the Gold Award from Carmarthenshire Tourism and was also included in Welsh Rarebits – Hotels of Distinction.
We wish Kevin and Anne the best of luck for the future.
